Theracurmin Super – The Most Advanced Form of Curcumin

 

Curcumin, the yellow pigment and key compound of turmeric ( Curcuma longa ) has become one of the most popular dietary supplements EVER. However, regular curcumin powder is probably   a waste of money as detailed absorption studies have conclusively shown that regular curcumin as well as curcumin in combination with piperine from black pepper is poorly absorbed. 1-4

 

Without absorption, curcumin will not produce the full health benefits people are looking for. To see the results with curcumin, it is necessary to use a form that has shown both enhanced absorption and proven clinical efficacy. Of these forms, Theracurmin has the most impressive results in double-blind, placebo-controlled studies. Beneficial effects noted include the ability to reduce tissue damage caused by inflammation, improve liver function, increase the ability of the heart to function more efficiently, promote vascular elasticity, enhance and protect brain function, and, lastly, improve quality-of-life scores. 5-10

 

In these human clinical trials, Theracurmin has shown superior health benefits compared to all other forms of curcumin – until now….

 

Theracurmin vs. Theracurmin Super

The production of Theracurmin utilized advanced manufacturing techniques to reduce the particle size of curcumin and then solubilize it in a colloidal suspension within a vegetable gum. This new form, named Theracurmin Super, utilizes new, ground-breaking technology.

 

The reason curcumin is poorly absorbed is because its physical state is in the form of a poorly soluble crystal. With Theracurmin, the size of the crystal is reduced, so it becomes a little more soluble, but it is still poorly soluble.

 

In contrast, Theracurmin Super is extremely soluble. To produce Theracurmin Super, regular curcumin is processed into an amorphous, non-crystalline form that is significantly more water soluble and easier to absorb.

 

Detailed human studies show the absorption curcumin from Theracurmin Super is more than 3 times better absorbed than the curcumin provided in regular Theracurmin® and more than 85 times better absorbed than regular crystalline curcumin. 11,12

 

The superiority of Theracurmin Super to Theracurmin has been shown in a linear progression of science. It started with pre-clinical data, moved on to absorption studies in humans, and finally in controlled human clinical trials. 11-15

 

Clinical Studies with Theracurmin Super

Four human double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies have already been completed with Theracurmin Super and more are in process. In the first study, Theracurmin Super at a dosage of 150 mg daily for 12 weeks produced significant benefits in improving upper respiratory tract symptoms associated with the common cold compared to regular Theracurmin at the same dosage or a placebo. 12

 

The subjects taking Theracurmin Super showed twice as high total curcumin concentration in blood than those on regular Theracurmin. Though regular Theracurmin® showed some benefits, the higher absorption of curcumin from Theracurmin Super translated to significantly decreased sneezing, nasal discharge, nasal obstruction, and coughing with Theracurmin Super supplementation compared to regular Theracurmin. 12

 

In another study, improvements in both mood status and vascular function were noted with Theracurmin Super. Ninety healthy adults were randomized to take either Theracurmin Super at a daily dosage of 150 mg or a placebo for 12 weeks. Improvements with Theracurmin Super® related to mood were seen with the group reduced feelings of anger, hostility, and depression. 13

 

Results also showed that Theracurmin Super influenced vascular function by reducing sympathetic nervous system activity while promoting parasympathetic nervous system activity in people over 40 years of age, which may also help positively influence mood as well. Theracurmin Super also helped improve vascular function and reduce vascular age.

 

In the most recent study, 71 healthy adults took either Theracurmin Super (curcumin, 120 mg/day) or Placebo (curcumin, 0 mg/day) for 8 weeks. Results showed Theracurmin Super effectively reduced oxidative stress before and after exercise, verifying curcumin's important application in reducing oxidative stress. Significant improvements in total oxidant status (TOS) and the oxidative stress index (OSI) were demonstrated. 14

 

Lastly, in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, human safety study, Theracurmin Super® was shown to be safe at dosages of 150 mg a day for 12 weeks and 750 mg per day for four weeks with no side effects or any indication of an adverse effect. 15

 

Clearly, Theracurmin Super® represents a major advancement in providing the health benefits of curcumin.
